Finnegans Wake, the final book by James Joyce, is the most multi-voiced, multilayered, multi-storied artwork ever created. Although there are a few recognizable characters, storylines, and thematic indentations, every word, every linguistic gesture bounces off and invokes every other. I have been reading the book for about 42 years. I'm in the midst of a 10-year project LOTS OF FUN WITH FINNEGANS WAKE. I'm making an artwork for each of the book's 628 pages. The project is a way for me to yoke together my twinning interests of the illustrative and the intellectual, the visual and the verbal.
